New Initiative for Agro-Hubs in the UAE
During the Food from Ukraine conference, Taras Vysotsky, Deputy Minister of Economy, Environment, and Agriculture of Ukraine, discussed with Sultan Al Shamsi, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates, about the creation of agro-hubs in the UAE. This was reported by the Ministry of Economy.
The purpose of these hubs is to receive Ukrainian products for further packaging and distribution to countries in need, including Gaza, Sudan, Kenya, Somalia, and others.
"This will help optimize logistics and enhance the efficiency of food delivery to those who need it most," the statement emphasized.
During thematic panel discussions at the Food from Ukraine 2025 event, Vysotsky highlighted the importance of transforming the initiative «Grain from Ukraine» into an expanded concept of «Food from Ukraine», which includes not only food supply but also the development of joint technological and production solutions.
«Ukraine has long played a key role in global food security and is a reliable partner for Global South countries. Despite the war and attempts by Russia to hinder our exports, since 2022 we have supplied over 40% of Ukraine's grain exports to Asia, Africa, and Latin America. We are not just delivering food; we are offering technologies, expertise, and production models that ensure long-term food stability. This creates equal partnerships that strengthen the resilience of the economies of all participating countries," the official stated.
As reported by Ukrinform, the Ministry of Economy, Environment, and Agriculture of Ukraine and the Ministry of Food and Agriculture of Ghana signed a Memorandum of Understanding to establish a Center for Processing and Distribution of Ukrainian Products in West Africa.
On November 19, the annual International Conference on Food Security «Food from Ukraine» was opened in Kyiv, gathering world leaders, ministers, representatives of international organizations, and leading experts. Among the participants are over 100 official and business delegations, including those from African countries, foreign and Ukrainian business associations, and producers of agricultural technology and food products.
Within the conference, there is also an Agroexpo 2025 exhibition featuring over 50 stands of agricultural technology manufacturers and more than 50 Ukrainian processing enterprises, from large companies to craft producers.
