New Celebration: Children's Protection Day in Ukraine

For the first time in Ukraine, Children's Protection Day is celebrated on November 20, coinciding with World Children's Day.

This holiday was established by the President of Ukraine's decree №355/2025 on May 30, 2025, and is now celebrated annually.

Previously, Children's Protection Day was observed in Ukraine on June 1, according to a presidential decree from May 30, 1998, which is now obsolete.

The Ministry of Defense stated that the Defense Forces are doing everything possible to protect children and their future.

«Today, Ukraine honors the memory of children whose lives were cut short by Russian terrorists. The aggressor denied them the opportunity to grow up in a peaceful country, dream, and enjoy their childhood. It is the duty of Ukraine and the entire civilized world to ensure that those who committed these inhumane crimes are held accountable. Our military is doing everything they can daily to protect children and our shared future,» the statement reads.
