YouTube has reinstated the "Memorial of Heroes" channel after it was blocked due to numerous complaints from Russia. This was reported by Gayané Avakyan, one of the platform's co-founders.
Avakyan expressed gratitude to everyone who joined in and shared information about the blockage.
According to her, the team reached out to government bodies and organizations that also made inquiries to the platform.
"The restoration was facilitated by Tatyana Lukinyuk, the general manager of Google Ukraine, who responded to our request. We hope there will be no more such blockages," she emphasized.
The "Memorial of Heroes" channel hosts 18 documentary films, including stories about fallen heroes and the missile strike from Russia on Dnipro that killed 52 residents, as well as nearly 100 memorial videos featuring biographies and memories of deceased soldiers.
The Russian government has granted Roskomnadzor the right, starting March 1, 2026, to block any websites and disconnect the Russian segment of the internet from the global network, particularly in cases of "spreading prohibited content".
