President's Meeting with Soldiers: New Challenges and Honors
President Volodymyr Zelensky held a meeting with military personnel at the command point of the 1st Corps of the National Guard of Ukraine «Azov», which, alongside adjacent units, is conducting defense operations in the Dobropillya direction.
The head of state listened to reports from Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi, Corps Commander Denys Prokopenko, and Commander of the Air Assault Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleh Apostol. The military reported on the ongoing liquidation of the Dobropillya salient, the clearing and further defense of Shakhove, and strengthening the defense flanks at Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad, as well as securing logistics routes. According to the military, the enemy continues to attempt to regain positions in the Dobropillya salient.
The President expressed gratitude to the soldiers for their service and presented them with state awards.
«I am honored to be here today to personally award you. Dear warriors, thank you for protecting Ukraine and our territorial integrity. You serve in such an important direction. This is our country, this is our east. I wish you health, take care of yourselves. And, undoubtedly, victory over the enemy every day», – noted Volodymyr Zelensky.
During the meeting with the military, significant attention was paid to issues related to weaponry, scaling up drone production, brigade needs, and the experience of the 1st Corps of the National Guard «Azov». They discussed the development and scaling of drone technologies, particularly fiber-optic technologies. Furthermore, there is a need for closer collaboration between drone and ground units, especially in the simultaneous use of artillery, long-range, and precision munitions. They also talked about efforts needed to secure the release of Ukrainian soldiers from Russian captivity.
