The social initiative «Ukrzaliznytsia 3000» will commence in December, with technical details currently being finalized. This was announced by the CEO of UZ, Oleksandr Pertzovsky, during a press briefing.
Under the «Ukrzaliznytsia 3000» project, Ukrainians will have the chance to travel for free within a 3000 km radius for four months during the low season when trains are less crowded.
According to UZ, there is a potential to offer up to 250,000 empty seats on long-distance trains during this period. These seats will be allocated for the social program.
The focus will primarily be on passengers from frontline areas. It is emphasized that no additional funding from the budget is allocated for this program. A detailed implementation mechanism is still being developed.
