Winter Wonderland in Kyiv: Season Opening
On November 29, the National Complex «Expo Center of Ukraine» in Kyiv will kick off the eleventh season of one of Ukraine's favorite projects — «Winter Country». The VDNH team invites everyone to immerse themselves in the spirit of Christmas and New Year, even though it’s still autumn outside.
Guests will be welcomed at the main entrance by a large light photo zone and an alley of shining Christmas trees, leading them into a magical world. The air will be filled with the aromas of cinnamon and mulled wine, accompanied by festive melodies and flash mobs from snowmen.
This year, the ice rink will claim the title of the largest in Ukraine, covering over 3000 m². In the center of the ice arena, a fairy-tale tower with a clock will be installed, alongside a New Year train that will be a key photo zone. Additionally, a magical clock counting down to the wonders will be featured on the central pavilion of the Expo Center.
The «Santa's Residence» is also relocating and will be even bigger this year, welcoming visitors in Pavilion No. 1. Here, guests can expect fairy-tale decorations, a New Year box for wish letters, and of course, Santa with his elf helpers. Nearby, the «Christmas Dream Factory» will bring children's fantasies to life, where elves will assist in creating Christmas ornaments.
This year, «Winter Country» will also introduce a new area where snow will lie regardless of the weather outside. Here, visitors can build snowmen, make snow angels, and have snowball fights. Snowy decorations will adorn the roofs of pavilions and market stalls, creating a magical atmosphere in any weather.
The favorite from the last winter season, the Illuminarium light installation park, will operate at the site of the «Vyava» art space, promising hundreds of bright photos for memories and social media. New themed photo zones will also appear in the «Greenhouse of Charms».
On the central square of the VDNH, the winter slide, Ferris wheel, carousel, and extreme rides will traditionally be in operation. A Christmas market will offer mulled wine, treats, grilled dishes, and craft souvenirs, while a little further, the Warm Alley will feature a food court, New Year melodies, and live performances on weekends.
Throughout the winter season, the Northern Express with an audio tour will circulate through the VDNH area, bringing a festive mood. All zones will operate independently of power outages, thanks to their generators, and the alleys will shine with energy-efficient LED lighting.
