Partnership for Digital Transformation in Ukraine
The Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine and the global technology giant Mastercard are set to enhance their collaboration aimed at boosting cybersecurity and developing the digital skills of businesses.
The memorandum of understanding was signed by the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine Mykhailo Fedorov, the president of Mastercard in Eastern Europe Yasemin Bedir, and the general director of Mastercard in Ukraine and Moldova Inna Andreeva during a meeting attended by the minister's advisor Valeria Ionan and representatives of the Mastercard regional team.
Mastercard is one of our key and long-term partners. Together, we have implemented dozens of projects that assist businesses and millions of Ukrainians in their daily lives. This new memorandum is another step in our partnership. We will work together to enhance financial literacy, develop digital tools for entrepreneurs within the Diia.Business framework, scale card products, advance GovTech initiatives, and cybersecurity projects. I am confident that more significant results are ahead.
The focus areas of cooperation include:
- enhancing the digital maturity of small and medium enterprises and supporting Ukrainian businesses through the Diia.Business project;
- developing digital products for secure payments, digital identification, and access to public services;
- improving financial literacy among Ukrainians and businesses through the Diia.Education portal and the Mriya app;
- advancing GovTech initiatives in collaboration with the Global Government Technology Centre Kyiv;
- launching new educational projects on cybersecurity and sharing experiences to develop the FinTech sector.
For many years, Mastercard has worked with governments around the world, supporting their journey towards digital transformation. In Ukraine, together with the Ministry of Digital Transformation, we systematically implement initiatives that promote the country’s digital progress, and we’re excited to embark on a new phase of our collaboration. Our unwavering focus remains on developing digital financial tools for Ukrainians, supporting entrepreneurs, and improving the digital maturity of businesses. Additionally, we will deepen our collaboration in developing cybersecurity solutions as a strategically important direction for strengthening the resilience of the financial and digital ecosystems.
Through years of collaboration, Mastercard and the Ministry of Digital Transformation have implemented a series of important initiatives to scale digital services and support small and medium-sized enterprises. These include cooperation in launching and developing the Diia.Business portal, establishing offline consulting centers in Ukraine, and opening the first Diia.Business center abroad in Warsaw.
Mastercard has also contributed to the development of financial functionality for the e-Entrepreneur comprehensive service, allowing entrepreneurs to receive a necessary package of financial services online simultaneously with the registration of their business. Furthermore, the Ministry of Digital Transformation, Mastercard, and partner banks have implemented several educational and grant programs to support entrepreneurs, including “Own” and “Trajectory 2”.
