Enhancing Pedestrian Crossing Accessibility in Kyiv
Since the beginning of the year, the municipal corporation «Kyivavtodor» has implemented projects to lower curb stones with tactile navigation at 327 pedestrian crossings. These activities are being carried out across all districts of the capital. This was reported by «Kyivavtodor».
Additionally, barrier-free approaches to socially significant facilities are being established. This process includes the installation of tactile navigation and an accessible pedestrian route from public transport stops to facilities that are crucial for the population.
So far, work has been completed at 23 such facilities. By the end of the year, it is planned to establish another 28 barrier-free approaches.
According to «Kyivavtodor», all necessary project solutions for creating a barrier-free environment are being implemented within the framework of capital repairs and reconstruction of street infrastructure elements.
All work to improve physical accessibility on the city's roads is being carried out with the involvement of relevant public organizations that address issues of inclusion and accessibility.
