New Opportunities for Social Assistance Applications in Ukraine
Applications for basic social assistance can now be submitted online via the «DiiA» app.
This was announced by the Prime Minister of Ukraine, Yuliya Svyrydenko, on Telegram.
She emphasized that it is crucial for the government to ensure that every Ukrainian family can quickly receive the necessary support without unnecessary bureaucracy.
«We are changing our approach: instead of five separate payments, there will now be a basic social assistance scheme. This will allow families facing difficult life circumstances to receive support more quickly and easily. This includes low-income families, single mothers, and children whose parents evade alimony payments,» Svyrydenko noted.
Applications for this assistance can be submitted online through the «DiiA» app. «It’s all very simple: just a few steps in the app and you will receive a calculation of your monthly payment. If everything is satisfactory, you can submit your application. There’s no need to waste time collecting paper documents,» the Prime Minister emphasized.
Svyrydenko mentioned that the amount of assistance is calculated individually. The amount is tied to a basic value that determines the minimum income per person in a family, which currently stands at 4,500 UAH.
This pilot project is designed to last two years, and the government is already working to make it permanent. «We have approved and submitted the relevant bill to parliament,» the Prime Minister added, expressing gratitude to international partners for helping to make social services more accessible.
It is worth noting that the Cabinet of Ministers has approved a bill proposing to transform state social assistance for low-income families into basic social assistance starting January 1, 2026, and to consolidate various forms of state support.
