New Regulations for Customs Officials' Certification
On September 9, the Ukrainian government approved new regulations for the certification of customs officials.
This was reported by the Ministry of Finance.
The new regulations stipulate a one-time certification in accordance with current legislation. The primary goal is to ensure that customs officials possess the qualifications necessary for effective performance of their duties.
The certification process will consist of three main stages:
- testing knowledge of the Constitution, customs, and anti-corruption legislation;
- logical reasoning tests and assessment of information processing skills;
- a comprehensive interview to evaluate professional competence and integrity.
The entire certification process, including testing and interviews, will be recorded using continuous video and audio documentation. Results of each stage will be published on the official website of the State Customs Service.
According to the new regulations, refusal to participate in the certification or failing it will result in termination of public service.
The ministry also states that journalists and media representatives may attend any stage of the certification process. They will need to be accredited, submit a notification, and sign a non-disclosure agreement. The number of attendees will be limited by the size of the venue but must not be less than two individuals.
