In Lviv, hundreds gathered to pay their respects to Andriy Parubiy at St. George's Cathedral on September 1, where a Great Memorial Service took place.
This was reported by Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko on Telegram, who also attended to honor the deceased.
"I had the opportunity to say goodbye to Andriy Parubiy. I attended the Great Memorial Service at St. George's Cathedral in Lviv. Many people came to pay their last respects to a great patriot who sincerely loved Ukraine and dedicated his life to fighting for it," Klitschko stated.
He spoke with Andriy's father, Mr. Volodymyr Parubiy, and expressed gratitude for raising a true fighter for Ukraine and for the support in his endeavors for a strong Ukrainian state.
"I extended my condolences to the family and spoke with Mr. Volodymyr. I thanked him for raising such a worthy son who worked for a free and strong Ukraine. Eternal memory to Andriy Parubiy - a decent man and a true fighter for our country. Thanks to people like him, our state has endured and thrived," Klitschko emphasized.
