New Regulations for Young Men's Travel Abroad
Men aged 18 to 22 will need a military registration document, available in both paper and electronic formats, to travel abroad.
This was announced by Colonel Andriy Demchenko, spokesperson for the State Border Guard Service.
Details: Recently, the government approved amendments to the rules for crossing the state border by citizens of Ukraine. The Ministry of Internal Affairs prepared the relevant resolution.
Demchenko emphasized that the document has not yet been published, and final information about the introduced changes will be available only after the resolution appears on the "Government Portal."
At the same time, according to current information from officials, Ukrainian men aged 18 to 22 will have the right to cross the state border during martial law.
The spokesperson of the State Border Guard Service also pointed out that this rule does not apply to individuals specified in points 2-14 of the mentioned rules, meaning those holding certain positions in government authorities. Travel abroad for this category is still permitted only for official business.
Direct quote: "Regarding the possibility of border crossing for men aged 18 to 22, it is emphasized that both a passport and a military registration document (or its electronic version) are required to be presented upon request by the representatives of the State Border Guard Service at the border crossing points.
The admission of this category of citizens will begin after the publication of these changes and their coming into effect."
