Extension of Benefits for IDPs: Changes and New Conditions
In August, the deadline for housing assistance for certain internally displaced persons (IDPs) from the most vulnerable categories expired. The government has extended these benefits for another six months, until February 2026.
This has been reported by the Ministry of Social Policy, Family, and Unity.
This includes individuals with disabilities of groups I to III, families with children under 18 years old (if the children are studying, then up to 23 years old), and families composed solely of persons unable to work.
Additionally, several changes have been made to the procedure for assigning housing benefits for IDPs, specifically:
having more than 100,000 UAH in a deposit account will no longer be a barrier for granting assistance to orphans, children deprived of parental care, and children temporarily placed with relatives, friends, foster families, or family-type children's homes;
if a non-working capable person registers with the employment center as unemployed or finds employment after the cessation of their benefits within the same six-month period, their assistance will be reinstated (from the month the person started working).
The continuation of payments will happen automatically, and no additional application is required.
The department also reminded that the amount of benefits is:
- 2,000 UAH - for one adult;
- 3,000 UAH - for one child or IDP with a disability.
Assistance is paid monthly for each family member of IDPs from vulnerable categories or those with low incomes.
