The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved 11 new measures related to veteran support, including a bill that outlines the fundamentals of national veteran policy.
This announcement was made by Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko on her Telegram channel.
"Today, we took significant steps for our defenders. The government convened to discuss veteran policy issues and adopted 11 resolutions," she stated.
Svyrydenko clarified that the government endorsed a bill that establishes the statuses of veterans and their families, ensuring various types of support: medical, educational, social, and legal.
Additionally, veteran spaces are being established, services funded by the state budget, and measures to commemorate the fallen are being implemented. The Prime Minister emphasized that all existing benefits and documents remain valid.
"We also supported a bill for those who defended Ukraine's independence. We expect these initiatives to be approved in the fall as part of the Code of Laws on Defenders," she added.
A significant number of servicemen with confirmed combat experience or combat veterans will be integrated into the Office of the President.
