The National Bank of Ukraine will begin circulating modified 20 hryvnia banknotes starting August 21. In the upper right corner on the reverse side, a patriotic slogan "Glory to Ukraine! Glory to the Heroes!" will be displayed.
This was reported by the NBU press service.
It is mentioned that all other design and security features will remain the same as the 20 hryvnia banknotes of the 2018 model, the details of which are available on the official website of the National Bank.
From August 21, the modified 20 hryvnia banknotes will support banks and CIT companies for further issuance to clients, as well as for replacing worn-out, damaged, and withdrawn banknotes.
Citizens will not need to exchange previous 20 hryvnia banknotes for the modified ones, as stated by the National Bank.
"As a legal means of payment, they will remain in circulation alongside other banknotes of the same denomination from previous years and are mandatory to be accepted at their nominal value by all individuals and legal entities without any restrictions throughout Ukraine for all types of payments and account deposits," the statement reads.
