Ontario Court Upholds MAA's Liability for Compensation

The Ontario Court of Appeal has ruled that the airline MAA must fully compensate all victims of the PS752 flight disaster.
According to a report by a Ukrinform correspondent, this is stated in the court's ruling.
“I dismiss the appeal, imposing court costs on the appellant in favor of the defendants,” the document states.
International law mandates airlines to provide up to $180,000 in compensation to each passenger if their fault is proven. This amount can be increased if the airline is found to be negligent.
Last year, the Ontario court determined that MAA acted negligently by failing to conduct a proper risk assessment before the flight from Tehran. As a result, the court stripped MAA of the right to limit compensation for the victims of the PS752 disaster.
The Ontario Court of Appeal refused to alter this ruling.
