Direct quote: "We all hear what people are saying lately – on social media, in conversations, on the streets. This is significant. We have considered all concerns and aspects that require change.
I plan to submit a bill to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine that will respond to these challenges and ensure the strength of law enforcement. We will avoid any Russian influence on the activities of law enforcement agencies, and importantly, all norms regarding the independence of anti-corruption institutions will remain intact. I await proposals from the heads of law enforcement and anti-corruption bodies, including the Attorney General of Ukraine, regarding the norms that need to be implemented. This will be a presidential bill, and we will carry it out as part of our state transformation strategy."
According to the president, during a recent meeting with the leaders of law enforcement and anti-corruption bodies, they agreed to collaboratively develop a plan of action and "specific steps" that could "enhance the rule of law in Ukraine."
