The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has published a new law No. 4555-IX, concerning the particularities of pre-trial investigations in cases of missing persons under special circumstances during martial law.

According to the document, the law comes into force the day after its publication.
As reported, on July 22, the Verkhovna Rada approved a law that significantly reduces the powers of NABU and SAP.
Specifically, it refers to bill No. 12414, which includes amendments to the Criminal Procedural Code of Ukraine regarding pre-trial investigations in cases of missing persons under special circumstances.
Following the adoption of the law, NABU director Semen Kryvonos urged the President not to sign it, as it may lead to the dependency of both independent institutions.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky signed the law that reduces the powers of NABU and SAP, raising concerns about the independence of these agencies.
Members of parliament are initiating a signature collection for a constitutional submission to the Constitutional Court regarding the law limiting the powers of NABU and SAP.
