Presidential Meeting with Law Enforcement: New Horizons
President Volodymyr Zelensky held a meeting with leaders of law enforcement and anti-corruption agencies, emphasizing the importance of constructive collaboration.
The head of state shared this on his social media platforms.
Zelensky described the conversation as "frank and productive." According to him, the parties agreed to have a "deep working session next week to develop a joint action plan." Furthermore, a plan detailing necessary steps to strengthen Ukraine and address current issues with a focus on ensuring justice and protecting the interests of Ukrainian society is expected to be ready in two weeks.
The president also shared a group photo with all meeting participants.
Direct quote: "I want to thank everyone who participated in our meeting: SBU, NABU, SAP, NAPK, DBR, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and the Attorney General. Thank you for your willingness to work as a team – for the sake of Ukraine. We agreed that all will work together constructively.
We hear what society is saying. We see what people expect from governmental institutions to ensure justice and effectiveness. We discussed necessary administrative and legislative solutions that will strengthen the work of each institution and resolve existing contradictions. We will work together and provide political support".
Why this matters: President Zelensky has yet to directly mention the law signed on July 22 that limits the powers of anti-corruption institutions or the protests against this legislation that took place in the government quarter, essentially "under the windows" of the President's Office.
