A woman tragically lost her life on Velyka Vasylkivska Street in Kyiv due to a traffic accident. The incident took place on Saturday, July 19, when prosecutor Andrii Molochnyi struck a pedestrian.
This information was confirmed by Ruslan Kravchenko, the head of the Office of the Attorney General.
Kravchenko stated that the driver was intoxicated, veered onto the sidewalk, hit the woman, and attempted to flee the scene.
Unfortunately, the victim passed away in the hospital the following day.
Molochnyi has been charged with violating traffic rules while under the influence, resulting in death.
According to the examination results, the driver's blood alcohol content was 1.77 per mille, the Attorney General added.
Kravchenko stated: "We will insist on applying a preventive measure for 60 days in the form of custody without bail.
I am personally overseeing this case as the senior prosecutor, starting with the selection of the preventive measure, and I will support the prosecution in court".
