The number of fatalities in water continues to rise.
Another unfortunate incident occurred last weekend in Bila Tserkva. Rescuers received a report that a person had drowned in the Ros River. This was reported by the Main Department of the State Emergency Service in the Kyiv region.
A duty crew from the 3rd State Fire and Rescue Unit of Bila Tserkva arrived at the scene. Emergency workers used a boat and rope to retrieve the man's body from the water. Police are investigating all circumstances surrounding the tragic event.
During hot weather, the number of water-related accidents sharply increases. Recently, in Bila Tserkva, a body of an unknown man was found in a pond at the "Olexandria" dendropark.
In June alone, 98 people drowned in Ukraine, including 8 children. Since the beginning of 2025, water has claimed the lives of 467 individuals, including 28 minors.
Rescuers emphasize the importance of adhering to safety rules while relaxing by water bodies and urge citizens to care for their own safety and that of their loved ones. According to statistics, the most common cause of death in water among adults is alcohol intoxication.
