Kyiv Introduces New Cooling Frameworks for Hot Weather
In Kyiv, Ukraine, with the arrival of hot weather, new frameworks that spray water are being set up to provide coolness during walks.
This was announced by acting director of the Department of Environmental Protection and Climate Adaptation of the Kyiv City State Administration, Serhiy Saburov.
«Our municipal enterprises prepare each year for the summer heat and gradually increase the number of these frameworks so that residents and visitors can refresh themselves outdoors. We aim to make Kyiv comfortable even on the hottest days», — he noted.
The frameworks are created by the employees of municipal enterprises responsible for green spaces. This year, they plan to install them at 31 locations.
The Kyiv Greenery and district municipal enterprises encourage the public to use the frameworks and treat the equipment with care.
Where the water spraying frameworks are being installed:
Holosiivskyi District: Maxym Rylskyi Park.
Darnytskyi District: Pozniaky Park; the square on Oleksandr Kosytsia Street; Internationalist Soldiers Park; the square on Vysniakivska Street, 12.
Desnianskyi District: Desnianskyi Park; the park along Roman Shukhevych Avenue; Festival Park; Youth Park; Vyacheslav Veremiia Square.
Dniprovskyi District: Victory Park; Aurora Park; the park on Yurii Shumskii Street; Kusum Square (DVZR settlement).
Obolonskyi District: Natalka Park.
Pecherisky District: Lesia Ukrainka Boulevard; Eternal Glory Park.
Podilskyi District: Kureniwskyi Park; the square at Shchekavytska Square; Square No. 1, Contract Square.
Svjatoshynskyi District: Sovky Park; International Park; Academician Vernadskyi Boulevard.
Solomianskyi District: Vidradnyi Park; Mykola Zerov Park; Orlyatko Park.
Shevchenkivskyi District: Khreshchatyk Street (boulevard part); Rainbow Park; Taras Shevchenko Park; the square near the circus; Peizazhna Alley.
Additionally, such weather conditions may lead to a heightened risk of fires spreading in ecosystems, especially in the presence of ignition sources (open flames).
