Starting from July 3, traffic will be partially restricted at the intersection of Mykola Bazhan Avenue and the Dnipro Embankment in Kyiv, lasting until August 2026.
This was reported by "Kyivavtodor".
The restrictions are due to the commencement of a major repair of the bridge near the "Osokorky" metro station. The work will be carried out in stages.
In the first phase, traffic will be limited on half of the bridge towards Osokorky. Traffic in both directions will be redirected to the opposite side of the bridge.
During the capital repairs, vehicle movement will follow a temporary scheme.
The bridge near the "Osokorky" metro station is relatively new, built in 1990, but inspections in 2023 revealed significant defects: wear of waterproofing, destruction of reinforced concrete structures, exposure and corrosion of reinforcement, and cracks in the concrete.
The major overhaul involves a complete replacement of the bridge, including new supports, span beams, and roadway.
