Exhibition on Pylyp Orlyk: New Perspectives
The exhibition will present new aspects of Pylyp Orlyk’s foreign policy
To mark the 315th anniversary of the Constitution of Pylyp Orlyk, the National Preserve “Hetman’s Capital” together with the Museum of Books and Printing of Ukraine have prepared a new exhibition project titled “Pylyp Orlyk. The Hetman’s Path.”
“This exhibition is the first event to highlight the Hetman’s long-standing diplomatic efforts aimed at securing freedom for the ‘Cossack nation’ and building an anti-Russian coalition,” the museum states.
Key exhibits will include rare artifacts: early printed books, publications, maps, engravings, paintings, ceramics, and weapons from the collections of the National Preserve “Hetman’s Capital” and the Museum of Books and Printing of Ukraine. The theme will be complemented by copies of documents from the Central State Historical Archives of Ukraine, the Manuscript Institute of the Vernadsky National Library of Ukraine, as well as archives from Sweden, Poland, and France.
For the first time, copies of documents from the Swedish State Archives — discovered by preserve historians in 2024 with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine — will be presented.
The exhibition will be open to visitors at the Museum of Books and Printing of Ukraine from June 24 to December 1, 2025.
