Enhancing the eQueue System: New Border Crossing Opportunities
The European Union and the International Organization for Migration (IOM) will provide significant support for the further development of the Ukrainian project «eQueue», aimed at facilitating border crossing.
The ministry of community and territorial development of Ukraine announced the signing of the agreement.
The EU will assist in extending the eQueue system to passenger vehicles and integrating it with state registries.
According to the agreement, the EU, through the IOM, will fund technical support for the project and help attract specialists for its enhancement and scaling.
Deputy Minister Serhii Derkach stated that this support will enable the implementation of a plan to refine the system, ensuring a smoother and more predictable border crossing process.
Among the planned steps is the integration of «eQueue» with other state registries and ensuring priority passage for certain vehicle categories.
Improvements are expected not only for cargo vehicles and buses but also for new initiatives targeting passenger cars.
There are also plans to install automatic fixation cameras at border checkpoints.

«eQueue» is a digital tool that allows carriers to register in an electronic queue and track its movement online, instead of waiting physically at the border.
Currently, the system is mandatory for all trucks and buses leaving Ukraine, and since its launch, it has been used for over 2 million border crossings.
