Innovative Scanning Systems Implemented at Border Checkpoints in Ukraine
Ukraine has launched new mobile scanning systems that allow for the inspection of vehicles and cargo without the need for opening them.
This was reported by the State Customs Service.
“All the modern mobile scanners, which were previously announced, have successfully passed final testing. They are now deployed at the border checkpoints: 'Porubne – Siret' and 'Orlivka – Isakcha' on the border with Romania, 'Uzhhorod – Vysne Nemecke' at the border with Slovakia, as well as 'Krakivets - Korchowa' and 'Yahodin - Dorohusk' at the border with Poland, which are key routes for Ukrainian exports to EU countries,” the report states.
Additionally, a professional training program for personnel is being implemented, developed with the best international practices in mind.
Officials are being trained to operate the new scanning systems with a focus on the technical capabilities of the equipment, principles of image interpretation, risk detection, and rapid response to potential threats.
Moreover, training for trainers is being conducted, allowing them to teach operators after completing an extensive course.
