Zelensky Announces Potential Memorandum Signing with the USA

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that a memorandum of understanding with the USA concerning mineral extraction "could be signed online today".

Details: The head of state noted that a few days ago, the American side expressed willingness to revisit the memorandum while lawyers work on the agreement about subsoil resources. 

"Our intentions are positive and constructive, and we are demonstrating this. Therefore, the memorandum of understanding, which is not the agreement itself but a memorandum of intentions, could be signed online today", – Zelensky remarked.

He added that now Deputy Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko is collaborating with the American side on the text of the memorandum.

"The memorandum is an important first step; why not agree on it for both countries", – emphasized the president.

Previously, Svyrydenko announced the upcoming signing of a memorandum with the USA, which will precede an agreement on mineral resources.

Svyrydenko also reported significant progress towards finalizing the agreement on minerals.
