The Museum of the History of Kyiv sadly announces the passing of its director, Diana Popova.

It is noted that Popova took over the museum's leadership following the onset of the war in Ukraine.
She had been ill for a long time and began chemotherapy in 2022. In March 2025, she wrote that she was "experiencing the hardest weeks of her life".
Quoted: "She faced the challenges of these difficult times with dignity, pouring her boundless energy into the museum, garnering support from partners, inspiring and uniting the team, and striving to make museum projects vibrant and memorable!".
For reference: Previously, Popova led the Department of Culture of the Kyiv City State Administration and had a background in business. She was 48 years old.
