Ukrposhta has announced the release of new postage stamps depicting lighthouses located along the shores of the Black and Azov Seas, including those situated in the temporarily occupied Crimea.
This set is part of the "Lighthouses of Ukraine" series, which was initiated in 2009, as stated by the company.
The release of this year's stamps coincides with the 25th anniversary of the State Hydrographic Service – the government body responsible for maintaining Ukrainian lighthouses.
"This time, the postage stamps will tell the stories of the lighthouses of the Black and Azov Seas, as well as the Crimean lighthouses, which, despite being temporarily occupied, remain an inseparable part of Ukraine not only on the map but also in the hearts of Ukrainians", the representative of Ukrposhta explained.
The new stamps feature:
The Ai-Todor and Chaoidin lighthouses in Crimea;
The Shagansky lighthouse in Odessa region;
The Bilosaraysky and Berdyansky Upper lighthouses in the Sea of Azov;
The Rusky Zadny lighthouse, or the Buzko-Dniester-Liman Canal lighthouse, in the Mykolaiv region.
