New Development Strategy for Kyiv Approved Until 2027

Today, December 5, the Kyiv City Council has adopted a new document outlining the Development Strategy for the capital until 2027. This crucial plan will play a significant role in the city's future progress. This was announced by Mykola Povoroznyk, the first deputy head of the Kyiv City State Administration.
«The war has posed numerous challenges for Kyiv, particularly in the areas of economy and social development, necessitating a review of existing priorities. However, despite these difficulties, Kyiv maintains its leading position in Ukraine due to active development and social cohesion. This will serve as the foundation for recovery and transformation of the city after the war», he noted.
He also emphasized that a large working group with over 160 participants worked on updating the document, including representatives from civil society, business, academic institutions, NGOs, and government bodies. They actively discussed priorities and tasks for the city under wartime conditions and post-war recovery.
The Department of Economy and Investments of the Kyiv City Administration noted that the community actively contributed to the discussion of new development goals. Residents had the opportunity to share their views on priorities through the Unified Portal of Kyiv and the City Development Platform.
The community focused on key areas such as safety, comfort, social support, accessibility of medical and educational services, as well as business support. Many of these suggestions were incorporated into the new Strategy.
The main priorities until 2027 include improving the quality of life, safety, and resilience of the community, which involves creating a barrier-free environment and economic well-being.
The operational objectives of the Strategy encompass all areas of the city's life, with an emphasis on addressing urgent issues by 2027.
The updated strategy also includes important aspects such as social inclusion and gender equality, as well as economic development based on smart specialization.
The department continues to work on an Action Plan for the implementation of the Strategy, which will include specific steps to achieve the set goals.
