Arrest of FSB Agent in Kyiv Region
The Security Service of Ukraine has apprehended another FSB agent who was coordinating airstrikes on Kyiv's energy facilities and gathering intelligence on the movement of defense forces.
The primary task of this individual was to locate and transmit photographs, videos, and coordinates of the capital's thermal power plants that were targeted for new missile strikes by Russian forces.
The investigation revealed that this person, residing in the Rivne region, came to the attention of the occupiers while seeking "easy earnings" through Telegram channels.
Following her recruitment, she was sent to the Kyiv region, where she visited local thermal power plants and documented their technical condition after regular attacks by Russia.
Later, the agent received another task: to travel to the Odesa and then Chernihiv regions to monitor the movement of military trains and columns.
To gather intelligence in Odesa, she initially settled in a hotel room with a "view" of the local Ukrzaliznytsia station. From her window, the agent observed the movement of trains carrying military equipment towards the front.
Next, she traveled to Chernihiv region and rented an apartment near the highway. She set up a phone camera with remote access on the windowsill of her temporary residence.
Using the video device, the Russian special services hoped to track the quantity and types of military equipment heading to the front lines.
The SBU counterintelligence operatives detained the agent in Chernihiv region. Two smartphones, spare SIM cards, and other evidence of her activities for the enemy were seized.
Based on the collected evidence, the investigators of the Security Service have notified the individual of suspicion under Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (treason committed under martial law).
The perpetrator is being held in custody without the right to bail. She faces life imprisonment with asset forfeiture.
Comprehensive measures were carried out by SBU employees in Kyiv, as well as in Kyiv, Chernihiv, and Odesa regions under the procedural supervision of the Kyiv regional prosecutor's office.
