A tragic event unfolded in a private dental clinic in Kyiv when a doctor improperly administered anesthetic to a 7-year-old boy, resulting in cardiac arrest. The perpetrator faces up to three years in prison for this crime.
In March of this year, police received a report regarding the death of a child undergoing treatment in the Svyatoshyn district.
During the preliminary investigation, it was revealed that the anesthesiologist, aware of the contraindications, still administered the dangerous medication. Immediately after the injection, the boy experienced cardiac arrest. Emergency services attempted resuscitation for two hours but sadly did not succeed.
The 44-year-old doctor has been charged with negligence resulting in serious consequences. The decision on preventive measures is currently being considered.
The Criminal Code stipulates a penalty of up to three years of imprisonment, with a possible ban on practicing medicine for the same duration.
