A taxi driver in Kyiv became a victim of a robber who, threatening violence, seized his phone. The perpetrator faces up to ten years in prison for this crime.
Recently, a 21-year-old driver reported to the police that a passenger threatened him with a weapon and forced him to hand over his mobile phone. The driver did not see the weapon and later dropped the assailant off on Chervonoyi Kalyny Avenue near a gas station.
The police quickly found the robber at the gas station. He turned out to be a 43-year-old local resident who was inebriated. No weapon was found on him.
Law enforcement detained the man under Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine, and during a search of his belongings, they discovered the victim's mobile phone. Investigators informed the suspect of charges under Part 4 of Article 186 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – robbery committed under martial law conditions. For this offense, he faces up to ten years in prison.
