Negotiations on Trump's Peace Plan: New Prospects
On Sunday, November 23, the United States, Ukraine, and European countries will begin discussions on a new peace plan proposed by Donald Trump. This was reported by CNN.
According to reports, US Army Secretary Dan Driscoll has arrived in Geneva (Switzerland), where he will meet with Ukrainian officials to discuss the next steps toward achieving peace.
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Special Envoy Steve Witkoff will join the discussions in Geneva to finalize the wording ahead of the meeting between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and President Donald Trump.
A meeting between Russian and American delegations is also planned to discuss the proposed peace plan, which will take place quickly, but not in Geneva. An official speaking on condition of anonymity declined to specify when and where this meeting will occur.
As reported, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Rustem Umerov stated that consultations between high-ranking officials from Ukraine and the USA have begun.
President Volodymyr Zelensky signed a decree establishing a delegation for negotiations with the USA and other international partners, as well as representatives from Russia, aimed at achieving a just and sustainable peace. The delegation will be led by the head of the President's Office Andriy Yermak.
President Donald Trump confirmed on November 21 that his administration has set the following Thursday as a deadline for Ukraine to agree to the White House's plan to end the Russian war.
Earlier, American media reported that the Trump administration had conducted secret consultations with the Kremlin to develop a new plan for ending the war in Ukraine.
From the Axios publication, it became known that this plan consists of 28 points and is divided into four main categories: peace in Ukraine, security guarantees, security in Europe, and future relations between the USA, Russia, and Ukraine.
Following a conversation with US Vice President Jay D. Vance, President Zelensky stated on Friday that Ukraine, the USA, and Europe will work at the advisory level to make the path to peace genuinely feasible.
