Fatal Conflict Between Friends

During a gathering, a conflict arose between a man and a woman, resulting in the man striking the woman multiple times on the head. He faces up to fifteen years in prison for his actions. 
The Kyiv police received a report from a local resident stating that a woman was found lifeless in his friend's apartment.
Investigators and a forensic expert arrived at the scene. They identified the deceased as a 58-year-old resident of the city, with signs of violence evident on her body.
During the preliminary investigation, police discovered that the 36-year-old apartment owner and the 58-year-old woman were friends who had spent time together at his home. During their interaction and while consuming alcohol, a conflict occurred, during which the perpetrator struck the guest on the head, causing her to fall. Realizing that she could not resist, the offender struck her again and left the apartment. The woman died at the scene from her injuries.
Law enforcement officers, together with analysts, located the perpetrator and detained him under Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.
Investigators, under the procedural guidance of the local prosecutor's office, informed the suspect of charges under Part 1 of Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – intentional murder. The court has chosen a preventive measure of detention. The penalty for this article can reach up to fifteen years of imprisonment.
