Justice Served: 15 Years for Arson in Kyiv

According to the Security Service, a Russian agent was sentenced to 15 years of imprisonment, along with asset confiscation and compensation for damages, for starting fires in Kyiv.
The main target of the criminal was relay cabinets along the main lines of Ukrainian Railways.
The investigation revealed that a 33-year-old man from Kyiv, previously serving time for theft, began collaborating with Russian intelligence services.
He came to the attention of the occupiers while searching for easy money in themed Telegram channels.
Under instructions from the enemy, the agent identified a relay cabinet that ensures the uninterrupted movement of trains in the capital.
He then poured a flammable mixture on the railway equipment, set it on fire, and filmed the incident to report to his handlers.
Law enforcement apprehended the agent at the scene within hours after the arson in November 2024.
Based on evidence collected by the SBU, the court found him guilty of sabotage during a state of war under Part 2 of Article 113 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
Comprehensive measures are ongoing to hold accountable the instigators of the crime located in Russia.
The investigation was conducted by SBU officers in Kyiv under the supervision of the Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office.
