Arson Against Military Vehicles
A young man, under the influence of the enemy, agreed to set fire to vehicles belonging to the military. However, failing to find any military cars, he set fire to three civilian vehicles instead. He now faces up to ten years in prison.
Investigators found that the young man discovered an online advertisement for a "job" that involved setting vehicles on fire in Kyiv for a fee, and contacted an anonymous "employer". Subsequently, he received clear instructions from a "curator" regarding the targets to be set ablaze.
Acting on enemy directives, the young man arrived at a garage cooperative located near a gas station in the Obolon district, searching for military cars. However, upon finding none, he decided to ignite civilian vehicles.
The offender poured a flammable liquid on parked Mercedes-Benz and BMW cars and set them on fire. As a result, two vehicles were completely destroyed, and a third vehicle, a Hyundai, was partially damaged.
Law enforcement officers, in collaboration with forensic specialists, identified the 18-year-old resident of Kyiv region as the perpetrator and arrested him under Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.
Obolonsky police investigators, under the guidance of the Obolon District Prosecutor's Office, informed the suspect of charges under Part 2 of Article 194 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - intentional destruction of another's property by arson. The penalty for this crime can lead to imprisonment of up to ten years.
The police emphasize once again - the enemy continues to exert pressure in the information space and incite citizens to commit crimes. Stay vigilant and do not follow illegal instructions. Report any suspicious offers immediately to the police at 102.
