Celebrating the Liberation of Kherson: Honoring Local Heroes
Today in Kherson, President Volodymyr Zelensky commemorated the third anniversary of the city's liberation by awarding state honors to individuals from various professions. He emphasized the significance of this day in the fight against occupiers, stating that the people of Kherson played a pivotal role in restoring the city.
"Today we celebrate an important event – the third anniversary of the expulsion of Russian troops from Kherson. I am honoring those who serve their country, both military and civilian," said Zelensky.
The President also visited a hospital, expressing gratitude to doctors and medical staff. "These are heroes who fight for life every day," he added.
Zelensky highlighted the crucial role of local farmers who help maintain the integrity of the state. "Your work is vital for our victory," he emphasized.
Additionally, the President announced a meeting with local officials to discuss security in the region. "We are working on decisions that will strengthen Kherson," Zelensky stated.
He also presented the Star of Hero to the son of a farmer who contributed significantly to Kherson region. It is worth noting that Kherson was liberated from Russian forces on November 11, 2022, though part of the region remains under occupier control.
