Authorities in Kyiv have announced charges against a KCSA official for negligence in the execution of their duties, resulting in financial losses for the city's budget. Investigators, in conjunction with the Security Service of Ukraine, found that during widespread power outages in 2023, a representative from the Department of Municipal Security held a tender for the purchase of one hundred diesel generators for the operation of Resilience Points.
However, the official failed to properly monitor market prices, leading to inflated costs for the purchased generators.
According to forensic examinations, the city budget incurred losses amounting to nearly 5 million hryvnias.
The accused faces charges under Part 2 of Article 367 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – negligence, which may result in imprisonment for up to five years.
