Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky arrived in Brussels to participate in the European Council meeting.
Before the session commenced, he was greeted by Antonio Costa, the president of the Council.
Zelensky expressed his gratitude to Costa for the invitation and for the support in implementing the new 19th package of sanctions.
He emphasized that the new measures from the European Union and the U.S. sanctions against Russian oil companies serve as a crucial signal for other nations to join these efforts.
It is worth noting that the European Union officially approved the 19th sanctions package against Russia on the morning of October 23 through a written procedure.
Additionally, the United States has imposed new extensive sanctions against Russia for the first time during Donald Trump's second term due to Moscow's unwillingness to engage seriously with the American president's peace initiatives.
