Arrest of Polish Citizen for Sexual Exploitation of Children in Ukraine

In Kyiv, law enforcement, in collaboration with international partners, arrested a Polish citizen who was sexually exploiting Ukrainian children through social media, distributing pornographic materials in closed Telegram channels.
The investigation began with an anonymous report about an account sending child pornography to a 13-year-old girl in Kyiv. It was found that since 2021, the perpetrator had been forcing Ukrainian children to create pornographic content online.
Investigators identified eight Ukrainian children who were exploited. Necessary actions were taken with them in accordance with international justice standards that are child-friendly.
During the investigation, police identified the suspect - a 57-year-old Polish national. He found minors through Telegram, communicated with them, and coerced them into creating pornographic materials, sending them other pornographic content.
The case is being investigated by the Kyiv police’s child-related crimes unit under the supervision of the prosecutor's office.
After identifying the perpetrator, police initiated international cooperation with law enforcement in Poland, the UK, and Europol. A request for international legal assistance was executed, leading to a search warrant in Poland.
On October 8, Polish police arrested the suspect, discovering computer equipment and other items containing pornographic materials involving Ukrainian children.
On October 10, a Polish court ruled to detain the suspect for three months. Under Polish law, he faces up to 15 years in prison.
The National Police urges parents to be cautious about their children's contacts online and to discuss potential dangers of communicating with strangers.
