The Ministry of Strategic Industries will stop its operations as of September 25, 2025.
This was announced by the ministry's press service.
«Due to the expiration of the 60-day period following the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine's decision to liquidate the Ministry of Strategic Industries, the Ministry will cease to perform its functions as of September 25, 2025», the statement reads.
The resolution to liquidate the Ministry was adopted by the government on July 21, 2025. It is emphasized that the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine will inherit all the functions, powers, property, rights, and obligations of the Ministry of Strategic Industries.
Additionally, it was noted that on July 21, the Cabinet of Ministers merged the Ministry of Strategic Industries with the Ministry of Defense. Herman Smetanin, who led the liquidated ministry, has been appointed as the CEO of the State Enterprise «Ukrainian Defense Industry».
