It has been revealed that one of the capital's construction companies, involved in building a residential complex near the Dnipro's protective zone, has overstepped its boundaries. On a protected green area, trees were illegally cut down, and the topsoil was removed and replaced with sand.
Investigators from the Dnipro Police Department in Kyiv have registered this incident in the Unified Register of Pre-trial Investigations under part 4 of Article 197-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, concerning unauthorized occupation of land, and under part 1 of Article 246 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – illegal logging or illegal transport, storage, and sale of timber.
Currently, the investigation is underway to determine all circumstances surrounding the illegal construction. The maximum penalty for such actions may reach up to three years of imprisonment.
The Dnipro District Prosecutor's Office is overseeing the procedural management.
