In the capital of Ukraine, a trial is set to begin against a man who promised to help a woman for $2000 by removing her conscript husband from the «Oberih» wanted list. The fraudster assured the woman that he had connections with government officials who could erase her husband's data from the conscription register. The investigation has now concluded, and the indictment has been submitted to court. The perpetrator faces up to eight years in prison.
Recall that in June, police uncovered a 30-year-old Kyiv resident who attempted to assist a local woman in avoiding the mobilization of her husband, citing his connections.
The man was arrested by law enforcement during the transfer of $2000 from the woman.
Investigators, with the support of the Solomyansky District Prosecutor's Office, charged him under part 3 of Article 369-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, related to receiving unlawful benefits.
The investigation is complete, and the indictment has been sent to court. The offender faces up to eight years of imprisonment with the potential for asset confiscation.
