This week, the foreign ministers of Ukraine and Hungary, Andrii Sybiha and Peter Szijjarto, will convene in Budapest to discuss bilateral cooperation.
The Hungarian minister announced this on his social media platform X.
“We are planning to meet with Andrii Sybiha in Budapest to discuss relations between our countries. Dialogue is crucial, and we are always open to it. However, Ukraine needs to take steps to address the rights of Hungarians in Transcarpathia,” – Szijjarto stated.
Earlier, Sybiha urged his Hungarian counterpart to engage in constructive discussions instead of social media disputes, aiming for practical solutions. Hungary remains the only EU member state blocking the opening of the first cluster in Ukraine's EU accession talks, while the other 26 leaders supported this move at the summit on June 26.
