On September 5, a significant meeting took place in Transcarpathia between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and European Council President Antonio Costa. The same day, talks with Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico were scheduled.
This was announced by the EU Ambassador to Ukraine, Katarina Maternova, via Facebook.
Details: On September 5, Antonio Costa arrived in Uzhhorod, where he was welcomed by Maternova.
"Many important leaders are gathering in Uzhhorod. Today will be quite active here. I am pleased to welcome European Council President Antonio Costa to Transcarpathia," the EU ambassador stated.
She noted that together with President Zelensky, they would join national, regional, and local leaders at the Congress of Regional Authorities to honor the resilience of Ukrainian communities and work on their recovery and future in the EU.
According to Ukrinform, Zelensky has already met with Costa.
"I would like to thank you, Mr. President, for your support of Ukraine today. We know about your busy schedule, but you found time to support Ukraine, and I appreciate your visit to this region," Zelensky said.
