Dangerous Incident in Mykhailivka-Rubezhivka
On July 12 at 22:33, an 18-year-old girl contacted the police, reporting that her father was threatening her and the family with a grenade and firearms in Mykhailivka-Rubezhivka.
Officers from the Bucha District Police Department and special forces quickly arrived at the scene.
During the arrest attempt, the assailant detonated a grenade and threw it towards the officers. Following the explosion, police fired back to neutralize the threat. The 41-year-old assailant died at the scene.
As a result of the grenade explosion, five police officers sustained shrapnel injuries and were transported to the hospital for treatment.
A search of the residence uncovered and seized four pistols, a pyrotechnic grenade, a hunting rifle, and a knife.
Investigators opened a criminal case for illegal handling of weapons, military supplies, or explosives and for threatening the life of a law enforcement officer (Part 1 Article 263, Article 348 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The State Bureau of Investigation continues to work at the scene.
