Strengthening Defense: New Initiatives from Ukraine

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that during his conversation with the US president, they discussed strengthening defense and enhancing air defense capabilities, as well as joint production in the defense sector.

Zelensky shared this information on his Telegram channel.

Direct quote from Zelensky: "Today we talked about the situation on the front lines and Russian airstrikes. President Trump is well-informed, and I appreciate his attention to Ukraine. We explored options for improving our air defense and agreed to further cooperation between our teams".

According to the president, the conversation also covered the capabilities of the defense industry and possibilities for joint production.

"We are ready for direct projects with America, which we consider crucial for our security, especially regarding drones and related technologies," he stated.

Another topic of discussion was mutual procurement and investments. "We exchanged views on the diplomatic situation and our collaborative efforts with America and other partners," Zelensky noted.

The president expressed gratitude for US support and emphasized the need for a "fair peace agreement, and Ukraine backs American proposals".
