New Barrier-Free Space in Desnyansky District
The KP SHEU of the Desnyansky District has completed the installation of a barrier-free space near the Administrative Services Center located at 29 Red Kalyny Avenue.
According to the Department of Transport Infrastructure of the Kyiv City State Administration, several works were carried out to ensure a barrier-free approach to this socially important facility.
In particular, the asphalt pavement of the sidewalks covering an area of over 4,500 square meters was restored, making the pedestrian zone safer and more convenient. Barrier-free access was also arranged for four public transport stops. Routes to these stops were equipped with lowered curbs and tactile strips on Architect Nikolayev Street and Red Kalyny Avenue.
Additionally, curbs at the stops were raised to facilitate passenger boarding and alighting. A parking bay with designated spaces for people with disabilities and their companions was also established. The passage through the underground crossing at the intersection of Red Kalyny Avenue and Ronald Reagan Street was renovated, replacing old slabs with new asphalt pavement.
The Department of Transport Infrastructure emphasized that Kyiv is systematically working on creating a barrier-free environment. This is not only about comfort but primarily about dignity, equal opportunities, and respect for every individual.
