Fortunately, the two-year-old boy escaped unharmed.
The child, who fell from a second-floor window, was urgently hospitalized with injuries. The incident occurred on July 2 in Hostomel, located in the Bucha district. This was reported by the Kyiv region police.
According to preliminary information, the toddler climbed onto the windowsill, leaned on the mosquito net, and fell out of the window. At the time of the incident, the child's mother was at home but had turned away for a few moments. Luckily, the boy did not fall onto the asphalt but onto a metal awning directly below the window.
There is no threat to the child's life. Law enforcement officers from the Bucha district police are establishing the circumstances of the event.
Unfortunately, such incidents are not uncommon. Most accidents among children occur during the warm season when parents leave windows open. Mosquito nets cannot withstand the weight of small children. Children often climb onto windowsills using chairs.
Authorities urge parents not to leave children unattended in rooms with open windows and to install safety devices that prevent window openings.
